Though the slow-moving Hotburple may appear lazy, it possesses a striking power that rivals a Night Fury's. Like the Gronckle, it is covered in bumps and has an affinity for molten minerals, with the ability to create lava slugs from iron ore.

The Gronckle, one of the toughest dragons, is known for its relatively small wings that beat as fast as a hummingbird's, allowing it to fly backwards, sideways, and even hover. Its primary weapon is the ability to chew rocks, melt them in its belly, and fire them as balls of molten lava.

Secretly responsible for centuries of human and dragon conflict, the Red Death used its commanding presence to order other dragons to raid nearby villages and bring it a constant supply of food. Its homing signal, produced by a combination of sub-vocal ululation and a fearsome stare, summoned other dragons to its lava-strewn nest.

The Deadly Nadder, Gronckle, Hideous Zippleback, Hotburple, Monstrous Nightmare, Terrible Terror, and Stormcutter are all distinct and fascinating members of the dragon world.

Silver, a beautiful Light Fury, is a silver-white color with bright blue eyes. While she may look sweet, she can be quite feisty, never being nice to hunters or anything evil. She typically eats perch and chicken, but is not picky and will eat anything.

The Terrible Terror, one of the smallest known dragons, has caused Vikings all sorts of problems, especially when they gather in groups ranging from five to upwards of ten. Their dissonant chirps, squawks, and croaks have kept many a Viking awake throughout the night and into the morning.

Toothless, the rarest and most intelligent of the dragon species, is a Night Fury distinguished by his dark color and piercing yellow eyes. He is the only Night Fury ever seen in Berk.
